Discover the art of peace through traditional Aikido training in Western Maryland. Join our welcoming community and begin your journey on the mat.
The Western Maryland Aikikai (WMAIKI) has been serving the Western Maryland region, providing traditional Aikido instruction in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Aikido, often translated as "the way of harmonious spirit," is a modern Japanese martial art developed by Morihei Ueshiba (O-Sensei). Unlike competitive martial arts, Aikido focuses on redirecting an attacker's energy and neutralizing aggression without causing injury.
Our dojo welcomes students of all ages and experience levels. Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced martial artist, you'll find a place here to grow both physically and spiritually.
